Vanessa Anne Hudgens is the first High School Musical star to release her own album - V, is the debut album by Vanessa Hudgens, first released on September 26th, 2006, via Hollywood Records. Hudgens stated the title of the album stands for Vanessa, but also for variety, because the album is a "mix" of genres and styles. V had sold 570,000 copies in the U.S. as of April 2008, which also peaks at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 album chart on the strength of the singles, "Come Back to Me" and "Say OK". There were different editions issued, each containing thirteen or fourteen tracks with varying bonus tracks. A twelve-track version was then released internationally on November 28, 2006.
Identified is the second studio album by Vanessa Hudgens. The album was released via Hollywood Records July 1st, 2008 in the U.S. and June 24th, 2008 in Japan. "Identified" received generally positive reviews from music critics. The New York Times gave the album a positive review, praising the song "Gone with the Wind" as Hudgens best vocal performance. Promotion was carried out by Hudgens giving interviews in Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, and MTV's Total Request Live. On June 24, 2008, the album was leaked full at AOL Music's album party premiere. On July 31, 2008, Hudgens started a 24-city tour in order to promote her debut album, V and her sophomore album, Identified.
